We strive to reach our community every summer through providing a small amount of school supplies as funds provide to our local and surrounding communities.

Well…  It just happens to be the time of year that we need to think about School Supplies.

 

The 22-23 school year has been completed and the kids are taking a break.  What does that mean for us here at FCC?

 

It means we need to begin collecting and planning for our Annual School Supply Outreach Ministry. It takes money and people to make this a successful ministry. Michelle and Cindy have been looking for the best way to be good stewards of the funds allocated for this ministry. As of today, the bags have been ordered and delivered to the building. There are 480 colorful bags that we will give away. Now, we need to fill them with supplies, and this is where you come in. Here are a few questions that you may be asking.

 

“How can I help?” 

#1  – donating the funds to purchase supplies. 

#2 – volunteering to help shop for the supplies. Much of the shopping is done here locally. 

#3  – be available to fill the bags and then help distribute them. (2 days)

 

 

“Why so early?”

School in the Plainview ISD will begin August 9, 2023. Any later will be too late.

This is the largest Outreach Ministry we have within our congregation. We try to help anywhere between 500-800 students get a head start on supplies. We cannot supply every need, but we can try to get them started.  Any and all help makes this a successful local outreach for our church family. We have envelopes located on the foyer table or you can mark the memo line of your check as School Supply.  We also accept donations to this ministry through our DONATIONS page via PayPal.  All funds donated to this ministry are used specifically for school supply outreach.
